quarterly newsletter For inspection copies,
"I enjoyed reading your book - a very clear and useful 'atlas'." Hazel Clark Ph.D. |
are you teaching sustainable design? As you put together courses on sustainable design, you probably find yourself looking for suitable case studies and occasionally wondering why students don't seem to get it, or conversley, overwhelmed by student interest. You might be wondering how to convey the severity of the challenges without dooming and glooming your students. "Surely" you think, "there must be a few other people out there dealing with these same issues." And there are. The new discussion list is meant to connect you with others who are working on the complexities of teaching sustainable design. It's a place to ask questions ("does anybody have a good case study for ...") and to provide feedback. It's a place to discuss ways of teaching, for example, how we balance "green" or "ecological" sustainability against economic and cultural sustainability in our classes or curriculums. It's a place to find partners for joint projects or announce new resources related to teaching sustainable design. The discussion list, called SUSDESIGNTEACH is open to all, so please do pass the word. To subscribe, visit the JISCMail website: To join, select “join or leave SUSDESIGNTEACH” and when the popup dialogue box appears, enter either your first and last name, or first initial and last name, or enter “anonymous” and your subscription will be hidden (you will remain “anonymous” only until you post to the list). When you join, consider posting a short note to the list about yourself and your interests. I hope to meet you there soon, Ann Thorpe |
